TEHRAN-Three short films from Iran are present at the 13th Queens World Film Festival that is underway in New York, the U.S.

“The Last Whinny of a Horse that Had Dreamt of Becoming a Butterfly” directed by Mahdieh Mohammadi, “Survivor” by Karim Azimi, and “The Steak” by Kiarash Dadgar Mohebi are the Iranian films participating in the event, Mehr reported.

In Mohammadi’s 16-minute flick, Yalda yearns to witness wild horses in their natural habitat before her time runs out. With unwavering dedication, her husband assists her in fulfilling this poignant final wish. This beautifully crafted narrative explores the beauty of fleeting moments and the enduring value of cherished memories, serving as a poignant reminder of life's preciousness.

“Survivor,” 13 minutes, portrays some immigrants waiting by the sea for them to be able to cross it. A young couple is going with the other immigrants to the light of the world, but they have problems when their baby is born.

In the eight-minute “The Steak,” a birthday ceremony preparation gets upside down as something horrible takes place.
